Dorothy Lee (St. John) Corless

Dorothy Lee Corless, 91, of Smithville, MO passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015.

 

She was born on September 22, 1923 to Walter and Gertie (Baber) St. John in Edgerton, MO where she grew up and graduated from Edgerton High School in 1941.

 

On August 29, 1952 she was united in marriage to Franklin C. Corless.  After their marriage they lived in Smithville where they made their home.

 

Dorothy was a faithful member of the Gashland United Methodist Church in Kansas City.  She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge in Smithville for over 70 years. 

 

She cleaned houses in Smithville and later worked for Carver Grocery Store in Smithville.  Dorothy enjoyed being around people and loved to travel.

 

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Raymond St. John.

 

She is survived by her husband Franklin Corless; children Roy Corless, David Corless, Cheryl Mason and husband John and Daniel Corless and wife Donna; three granddaughters, Doety, Jennifer, and Danielle; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter; other relatives and many friends.    

 

Funeral Service:  2:00 p.m. Monday, March 30^th with visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service all at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home Smithville
