Dorothy Jean (Henson) Hawkins

Dorothy Jean Hawkins, 80 of Gower, MO, passed away, Saturday, November 19, 2011 at her home.

She was born on May 30, 1931 to James Henry and Ida Belle (Webber) Henson in Amoret, MO, where she grew up and attended school.

On April 14, 1951 she was united in marriage to Ray Hawkins. After their marriage they lived in Gower where they made their home. Ray preceded her in death on May 25, 1991.

Dorothy enjoyed baking and decorating cakes and belonged to the International Cake Exploration Society. In later years she researched family history and genealogy.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Claude Henson, Charlie Henson, Lee Henson, and infant brother; and sisters, Carrie Luckan, Lottie Nelson, Opal Henson, Lena Snell.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Donna Jean Justus and husband, Jerry; three grandchildren, Dennis Justus, Daniel Justus, Tara Justus; great-grandchildren, Jared, Alayna, Maggie, Keith, Ben, Kobe, Kiara, Anthony, Madison, and Crystal; brother in law, Lowell Hawkins and wife Pauline, sister in law, Helen Hessemyer and husband Howard; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Graveside Inurnment: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 23^rd at Allen Cemetery, Gower.
