DOROTHEA A. DODSON

1942-2006

Dorothea Alvina Dodson, 64, of Trimble, MO, formerly of Smithville, passed away, Wednesday, July 26, 2006.

She was born on May 1, 1942 to Bernard Lee and Floretta Alvina (Debrick) Hayden in Paola, KS where she grew up and graduated from Paola High School.

Dorothea worked in security for Cerner Corporation in Kansas City and later worked for the Medicine Shoppe in Smithville.

She was the type of lady who never met a stranger and she remained a true and loyal friend. Dorothea was loved by many and all who knew her.

Dorothea had a great respect and loved for the outdoors. She loved hunting, fishing, camping and especially cooking on an open campfire. Her favorite past times were gardening, crocheting, cooking, puzzles, telling stories and talking with Anita, but first and foremost spending time with her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Billy Dodson and her favorite dog Cosmo.

Dorothea is survived by her daughters, Rebecca Kirkpatrick and husband, David, Ludlow, MO, Floretta Bigger and husband, Robert, Paola, KS, and Oleaha Dodson, Trimble, MO, six grandchildren, Telashea, Catherine, Danielle, Christina, Ben and Priscilla, three great-grandchildren, Cody, Chloe, and Alexis, and sister, Helen Webster, Paola, KS, other relatives and many friends.

Dorothea was a great lady, a beautiful person and a wonderful mother. She will be greatly missed.

VISITATION: 7:00-9:00 P.M., , Friday, July 28th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville, MO.
Family burial at a later date
