Donna Murphy

Donetta Louise Murphy, 72, of St. Joseph, MO, formerly of Aurora, CO, passed away Thursday, March 8, 2012.

She was born on February 12, 1940 to Harry Washington and Clara Francis (Hamlin) Lappin in Boulder, CO where she grew up and graduated high school.

On February 19, 1971 she was united in marriage to William Carlton Murphy. After their marriage they lived in Aurora, CO where they raised their children and made their home. In October of 2008 they moved to St. Joseph. Her husband, Bill, passed away, December 31, 2010.

Donna enjoyed needlepoint, tapestries, crocheting, and flower gardening Most of all she loved quilting and made numerous quilts for her family.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Virgil and Chesney, sisters, Letha, Wilma and Florence, and great-granddaughter, Olivia.

Donna is survived by her daughters, Natalie Graves and husband Ray, Tulsa, OK; Susan Benson and husband Trevor, Denver, CO; three step-children, Bill Murphy and wife Cindy, Aurora, CO, Don Murphy and wife Cheryl, Oceanside, CA, Eileen Wiedmaier and husband Alan, Agency, MO, six grandchildren, Shannon, Shawn, Christopher, Hilary, Andrea and Becky; five great-grandchildren, Alexa, Craig, Avery, Marcus, and Riley; sister, Jane Martin and husband Jerry; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Visitation: 10:00-11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 13^th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower with Graveside Service following at Allen Cemetery, Gower.
