Donna Louise (Bork) Petre Harding

Donna Louise Bork Petre Harding, age 65, of Gower, MO passed away on Friday, December 26th, 2014 in Kansas City, Missouri.

She was born on March 11, 1949 in Macon, Missouri to Leslie and Francis Bork.

Donna married Vernon Leroy Petre January 7, 1966.  She was a devoted homemaker who loved cooking, sewing, and painting.  On September 5, 1967 she gave birth to Kevin Wayne Petre, followed by the birth of her second son, Jason Leroy Petre on November 17, 1969.  She then gave birth to her first and only daughter, Nikki JoAnn Petre on January 6, 1979.  Donna’s early years were dedicated to her children.  Although there were the family vacations and fun times, her focus in her early years was tending to the needs of her children.  In the mid 1980’s, Donna found a new passion, skating, that she could enjoy with her family.  Donna’s focus then turned to her Daughter, spending countless hours taking her to skating practices and multiple competitions.  Vernon and Donna parted ways in 1990 after 24 years of Marriage.  In 1991, Donna met James Lisle Harding at a local skate center where the two spent time due to a mutual love for roller skating. The couple later married in July 1994, and Donna became the proud step mother of five.  The two later built a home together in 1998 in Gower Missouri where they enjoyed riding around the countryside, shopping for new clothes, watching westerns, and going to the movies. They shared a passion for their gardens and Donna spent countless hours caring for her flowerbeds, landscaping and maintaining her yard. Donna enjoyed vacationing often in Branson and spent many hours exploring the shops and attending shows with her husband.     

Donna's hobbies included cooking, decorating her home, making flower arrangements, and creating unique bows for her family and friends. Donna's greatest passion was her 18 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.

Donna worked at Allied Central for 12 years and later transitioned to Atena where she worked as a pharmaceutical tech. Donna retired after 15 years of faithful service.

She is preceded in death by, her Father Leslie Bork and her mother Francis Bork of Macon, Missouri.

Donna is survived by her Husband James Harding of Gower, Missouri; Brother, Richard (Toni) Bork; daughter, Nikki Petre; sons, Jason (Norma) Petre and Kevin Petre; Step-children; Christopher Twombly, Nicole (Patrick) Breshears, Molly (Scott)Pomeroy, Andrea (Troy)Cook, and AJ Harding;  6 grandchildren; Erika and Hannah Petre, Brandi Cremeen, Madelynn Wrightsman, Cooper Pena, and Jake Petre; 12 step-grandchildren; Reagan, Brooklyn, Blake, and Haillie Breshears.  Carson, Owen, and Maddox Pomeroy.  Tayden, Grady, and Taylor Cook. Sara and John Benavidez.

Memorial Service:  1:00 PM, Saturday, January 31, 2015, at Crossroads Christian Church, 1816 N. Missouri Street, Macon, Missouri.  

Celebration of Life:  2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 1, 2015 at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, 104 Mill Street, Smithville, Missouri.
