DONALD YORK

Donald York, 56, of Smithville, Mo., passed away, Thursday, May 5, 2005 at his home.

He was born on November 15, 1948 to Nathan Smith and Jeannette Lorraine (Porter) York in Kansas City, Mo., where he grew up and attended Park Hill Schools.

He then served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and Panama. After his honorable discharge he returned to Kansas City and in 2001 moved to Smithville.

Donald worked for Owens-Corning Fiberglass in Kansas City.

He was a member of the First Regular Baptist Church in Kansas City, Mo., and the VFW Post #7356 in Parkville, Mo.

Donald was preceded in death by his father, and his sister, Dianna Lou Richman.

He is survived by his mother, Jeannette York, Smithville, Mo., two brothers, Paul Edward York, Kansas City, Mo., and Joe Keith York and wife, Theresa, Leavenworth, Ks., five nephews, Jeff Richman and wife, Karla, Kansas City, Mo., Mark Richman and wife, Angela, Parkville, Mo., Joey Summers and wife, Susan, Spring Hill, Ks., Justin York and Jesse York, both of Gladstone, Mo., five great-nephews, Sean, Nathanael, Donald, Alexander, and Nicholas, and one great-niece, Samantha Jo, other relatives and many friends.

Graveside Service: 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 9th at the Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, Ks.
Friends may call from 7:00-8:30 p.m. Sunday at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville, Mo.

Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association.
