Donald R. Boyer

Donald Ray Boyer, 64, of Camden Point, MO passed away, Friday, July 20, 2018.

He was born on August 11, 1953 to Roy W. and Clara M. (Hudelson) Boyer in Anderson, MO. Don grew up in Neosho and graduated from Neosho High School in 1971. He then attended Crowder Junior College and graduated from Southwest Missouri State in Springfield, MO where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture. 

On January 1, 1974 he was united in marriage to Gloria Elliff. After their marriage they lived in Marshall, MO and in 1984 they moved to Camden Point where they made their home. Don and Gloria enjoyed their second home in Pineville, MO where he spent his days during his retirement, gardening and cutting wood. Most of all, Don loved to watch his grandchildren and their teammates participate in their various activities. 

Don retired from the Farm Service Agency after 30 years of service. He was very active in the Camden Point Athletic Association, maintaining the Camden Point Baseball Fields, and coached youth baseball, softball and basketball. Don was involved in the building of the Camden Point Community Center. Don served on the North Platte School Board and was President of the Water Board.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, sister Jane Boyer and brother Guy Boyer.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria, of the home; son, Travis Boyer and wife Kendra; daughter, Monica Boyer; grandchildren, Drew, Zoe, and Harper; sister, Faye Whited and husband Vaughn; brothers, Bruce Hudelson and wife Glenda, Danny Boyer and wife Nellie, George Boyer and wife Ronda, Jessie Eggleston and husband Geoff, Joe Boyer; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bob and Geraldine Cox; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Fred and Julie Cox and Brett and Beth Cox; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 26th Camden Point Christian Church

Burial: Camden Point Cemetery 

Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

Arrangements, Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower.

Donations may be made to the Camden Point Christian Church or the North Platte Foundation.
