Donald F. Warren
Donald F. Warren, 85, of Smithville, MO, passed away, August 19, 2010.
He was born on January 5, 1925 to Ollie Franklin and Gladys Mae (Ford) Warren in Smithville, Missouri where he grew up and attended Smithville High School. Donald then served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII where he served in the Armored Division under General Patton and received a Purple Heart.
On January 28, 1944 he was united in marriage to Jacqueline Lee Hallmark. After their marriage they made their home in the Smithville area.
Donald was a business owner in Smithville and Liberty. In 1958 he then opted to run for political office. He was elected to seven consecutive terms as Clay County Clerk, serving for 28 years. After his retirement he enjoyed camping, gardening and visiting with friends.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Smithville. Donald was also a lifetime member of the VFW and belonged to the Smithville Kiwanis.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Donald is survived by his wife, Jackie of 66 years; sister, Virginia (Reeves) Justice, Smithville; brother, Richard Warren, Smithville; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service: 3:00 p.m. Monday, August 23rd Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville with visitation one hour prior to the service.
Burial with Military Honors: Smithville Memorial Cemetery, Smithville.
