Donald Duane Stubbs
Donald Duane Stubbs, 84 of Smithville, MO, formerly of Camden Point, passed away, Monday, September 3, 2012.
He was born on October 26, 1927 to Isam Dewitt and Lois (Bradley) Stubbs in Camden Point, MO where he grew up and attended school. He served his country in the U.S. Merchant Marines from 1944 to 1945. Don then enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps until 1947; he then served in the Field Artillery Reserves until 1952.
On February 2, 1946 he was united in marriage to Mary Martha Karis. After their marriage they raised their family in southern California, and retired in Kansas City.
Don worked at Bear Frame and Wheel in Glendora, CA for thirty-five years. He was also a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 58 in Smithville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Dorothy, an infant son, Bradley Don Stubbs, and son, David L. Stubbs.
Donald is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary of the home; son, Donald Stubbs and wife Cindy, Covina, CA; daughters, Carol Broderick and husband Bren, Smithville, MO and Diane Ferra and husband Mike, Chino Hills, CA; grandchildren, Michael Ferra, Donna Rizo, Nic Allen, Jesse Allen, Joey Stubbs; six great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services: 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 8th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville with visitation one hour prior to the service.
Burial with Military Honors: Camden Point Cemetery.
