Don Lindsay
Alfred Donald “Don” Lindsay, 94, of Smithville, MO passed away, August 23, 2024.
He was born on October 20, 1929 to Charles Richard and Maude Ruth “Peggy” (Simpson) Lindsay in Kansas City, MO. Don grew up in the Smithville area. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War.
On October 7, 1950 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Jane Rule. After their marriage they lived in Lenexa, KS and Smithville where they made their home.
Don worked for Ford Motor Company for over 30 years. After his retirement, Don and Betty, spent the winters in Mission, Texas. Don liked to tinker with things a was a fixer.
Don was a member of the Smithville Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Carla Mall. He was also preceded in death by his parents, brother, Richard Lindsay; and sister, Charlene Horn.
Don is survived by his wife, Betty; daughters, Debra Moore and Terri (Phil) Oropeza; son-in-law, Gary Huntley; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Private Family Services will be held.
