Don Bridges

Donald Miles Bridges, 88, of Gladstone, MO passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2017.

 

Don loved playing music, bass guitar with his band years ago, the accordion and the electric organ.  He would entertain himself and others at Englewood Vista for hours at a time. 

 

He loved to research recipes and was a very good cook.  He also did magic tricks and loved telling jokes.  He would tell you that he was an introvert, but he never met a stranger.

 

Don proudly served in the US Army during WWII.

 

He married his wife Genny on Christmas day in 1948.  They were married for over 64 years until her death in 2013.

 

Don is survived by his sons Gary Bridges and wife Jody and Doug Bridges and wife Laura; great-granddaughter Niki; and a niece Tosca Verducci.  

The family would like to thank his caregiver and friend Lisa Kutchman.  They would also like to thank his friends Dottie Pierce and her daughter Lela Allen, the Clay
County Senior Services  and NorthCare team at Kansas City Hospice and NorthCare Hospice House for their care and compassion.  

 

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
