Domitila (Madrigal) Mesa

Domitila (Madrigal) Mesa, 90, of Kansas City, MO, entered into rest, Friday, August 7th, 2009 at White Oak Manor Nursing Home.

She was born on December 1, 1918 to Raphael and Martina (Torez) Madrigal of Zamora, Mexico.
She was united in marriage to Raymond G. Mesa. After their marriage they lived in Douglas, Wyoming. Her husband, Raymond, passed away in 1966. Domitila (Tillie) also lived in Massachusetts, Hawaii and Florida.

During World War II, Tillie was one of the many women who washed locomotive engines that were transporting troops for overseas deployment. The job she held in most high esteem was as a Nurses Aid at Kansas City Medical Center.

She was a member of the St. Charles Catholic Church in Kansas City. Tillie enjoyed painting and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She fulfilled her thirst for knowledge by listening to the National Public Radio and surfing the internet. Tillie had the most infectious laugh which was enjoyed by those who knew her.

Tillie was also preceded in death by her son, Arthur Mesa, sister Victoria Macias and her great-granddaughter, Jade Mesa.

She is survived by four sons and a daughter: Ralph Mesa (Rebecca), Riverton Wyoming, Rudy Mesa, Kansas City Missouri, Robert Mesa (Sue), Kansas City Missouri, Linda Andler (Tom), Satellite Beach Florida and Bill Mesa (Angela), Sheridan Wyoming. Her grandchildren include Christina Mesa, Steve Mesa, Letisha Labbate, Monique Mesa Platz, Greg Mesa, Denea Mesa, Tommy Andler, Renee Perry, Alicia Mesa, Adam, Ryan and Melissa Grove and great-grandchildren Regina, Mikayla, Samuel, Shane, Lauryn, Sydney, Daniel, Briana, Sterling, Marissa, Sophia, Joshua, Rylee, Bryson, Ally, Cedar, Kale and Hanna and great-great grandchildren Dyani, Itan and Akicita . She is also survived by her brother, Alfred Madrigal, sister Rachel Sanchez, brother-in-law Alfonso Mesa, several nieces and nephews and many friends.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 10th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home in Smithville with visitation one hour prior to the service. The Burial is going to be held at Ridgely Cemetery in Ridgely, MO. Donations can be made to Crossroads Hospice, 9237 Ward Parkway, STE 300, Kansas City, MO.
