Denzil D. Davidson
Denzil D. Davidson, 85, of Edgerton, MO passed away, April 2, 2016 at his home.
He was born on January 6, 1931 to Clarence Wilford and Cordie Mary (Ellison) Davidson in Kissee Mills, MO. Denzil graduated from Forsyth High School. He then served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge he attended Central Technical Institute in Kansas City.
On April 9, 1955 he was united in marriage to Joyce Johnson. After their marriage they lived in Kansas City and in 1965 they moved to rural Edgerton where they farmed and made their home.
Denzil worked for TWA and retired after 34 years as a Radio and Electrical Inspector. He was a member of the IAM Local 1650 where he served as Union Steward for many years.
Denzil was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Denzil and Joyce enjoyed traveling and visited all 50 states and 14 countries. He also enjoyed his farm, but most of all loved his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Denzil is survived by his wife, Joyce, of the home; children, Dean Davidson and wife Myra, St. Joseph, MO, Cheryl Roe and husband Ron, Edgerton, MO, Melissa Auxier and husband Doug, Edgerton, MO; grandchildren, Jacob (Dalia) Davidson, Jessica (John) Mosiman, Joanna (Bekor) Masse, Josiah (Allison) Davidson, Sean Davidson, Shomer Davidson, Zac Davidson, Mindy (Mike) Juhnke, Matthew Roe, Michelle (Andy) Morley, Michael (Bailey) Roe, Mark Roe, Jennifer (Jeff) Walton, Jill (Landon) Hale, and David (Shannon) Auxier; twenty-two great-grandchildren; brother Junior Davidson and wife Sue; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 8th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville, MO.
Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial with Military Honors : Ridgely Cemetery
Donations may be made to the Salvation Army or the American Cancer Society.

I have such fond memories of visiting Denzil and Joyce (and Aunt Cordie) and family as a child. Thoughts and prayers are with you in your loss.
