Dennis Russell

Dennis C. Russell, 93, of St. Joseph, MO formerly of Gower, passed away, Thursday, March 29, 2018.

 

He was born on December 2, 1924 to Delbert C. and Janetta Helen (Schwan) Russell in St. Joseph, MO.  Dennis grew up in rural Gower and graduated from Gower High School.  He then served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII.  After his honorable discharge he lived in St. Joseph, where he made his home.

 

Dennis was a member of the Gower American Legion Post 393 and 40/8 for many years.  Dennis was also a member of the Eagles Lodge in St. Joseph.

 

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Richard Clinton “Dick” Russell, Lloyd Swanson Russell, and William Albert “Bill” Russell.

 

She is survived by his sister, Sue Fehd, Lompoc, CA; nieces, Becky Yager and husband Monte, Gower, MO and Lorri Eppley and husband Wayne and Carol Sauzek, Lompoc, CA; several great-nieces and great-nephews, and many friends.

 

The family will receive friends from 10:30-11:30 am Saturday, March 31st at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower with Military Honors at 11:30 a.m.
