Delma L. Simrall
Delma Lee Simrall, 96, of Kansas City, MO passed away, Saturday, September 22, 2012 at Northcare Hospice House in North Kansas City.
She was born on November 23, 1915 to Curtis and Rose (Justus) Walker near Smithville, MO. Delma graduated from Smithville High School.
She was a switchboard operator for Southwestern Bell in Smithville and later for the PickWick Hotel and the Hilton Hotel and other hotels in Kansas City. She was PBX operator for Dolgins and later retired from Best Products in North Kansas City.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Smithville, where she was a Sunday School Teacher for several years.
Delma was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Joe Edwards and James Simrall; brother, Charles Walker and sisters, Nellie Lowmiller and Dorothy Hendrix.
She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Simrall, Kansas City, MO; sister-in-law, Mildred Holtzclaw, Westmoreland, KS; nephews, Fred Lowmiller, Mountain Home, AR, Ira Lee Walker, Grantville, GA and Grant Hogan, Liberty, MO; great-nieces, Andrea Thomas, Blue Springs, MO, Kymer Walker, Newnan, GA and Tracy Johnson and husband Elton, Liberty, MO; great-nephew, Eric Lowmiller and wife Frankie, Blue Springs, MO; four cherished great-great nieces and nephews, Megan, Logan, Erica, and Ryker; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 1st at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service.
Burial: Smithville Memorial Cemetery.
