Della B. Miller
Della B. Miller, 93, of Edgerton, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2007 in Smithville.
She was born on August 18, 1913 to Wallace A. and Catheryn E. (Dale) Sharp in Platte County, Missouri, where she grew up and attended school.
On February 23, 1932 she was united in marriage to John S. Miller. After their marriage they lived in rural Edgerton where they farmed for many years. Her husband, John, passed away in April 1974.
Della also worked for National Bellas Hess for 13 years.
She was a member of the Little Platte Baptist Church where she served as the adult Sunday School Teacher. She was also a member of the Traveling Gals in the Smithville area, and the Platte County Senior Center where she served on the board for many years.
Della was also preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Venetia C. Miller, Jessie Foley, and Octavia Sharon, and two sons, Donald S. and Marvin L. Miller.
She is survived by two sons, Harold R. Miller and wife, Shirley, Smithville, and John W. “Jay” Miller and wife, Louetta, Bartlesville, OK; daughters-in-law, Madeline Miller, Kansas City, MO, and Marilyn Miller, Gladstone, MO; nine grandchildren, Linda McElhany, Cindy VanWinkle, Rick Miller, Steve Miller, Karen Hanaway, Marvin Miller, Jr., Kathy Nye, Mark Miller, and Connie Mattix; eighteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mardell Stephens, Raytown, MO; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 17th at the Little Platte Baptist Church, Edgerton, MO.
Burial: Ridgely Cemetery, Ridgely, MO.
Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville.
