Delbert DuBois

Delbert DuBois of Kansas City, Mo passed away September 12, 2023.  

He was born on November 18, 1936, to Louis Lee DuBois and Ada May (Poage) in Gower, Mo. He grew up in the Gower are and graduated from Gower High School Delbert then attended Central Missouri State University and Northwest Missouri State University where he played football and baseball. After college Delbert started his life after college as a successful coach in track and other athletics with high schoolers. Delbert also served his country in the National Guard. 
Delbert went on to pursue careers outside of athletics in the insurance and real estate industries. He spent the last decade working as a courier across Kansas City and beyond. He enjoyed his work and the pleasure of taking long drives throughout Missouri and the surrounding states. 
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son Lee William DuBois, his wife Angie DuBois and longtime companion Marion Masters. 
Delbert is survived by his daughters, Kim (John) Ertz and Katie (Ashley) Simcoe; grandchildren, Natalie Ertz, Charlie Ertz, and Darby Conrad; brothers, John (Darla) DuBois and Charles “Cowboy” DuBois; two stepchildren; several nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.  
Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 7th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home in Smithville. 
Inurnment: Reed Cemetery, Trimble, MO.

    So sorry to learn of Delbert’s passing. Just yesterday, we were looking at Uncle Bill’s slides and enjoyed all our photos with Cowboy, photos of the DuBois Boys playing bluegrass music, and fishing and playing ball in Trimble and Gower. Please know we are thinking of all of you.
