I regret that I personally never met David, but rather I got to know him through his son, and my good friend and work colleague, Brian.  What a special man, father, and husband he was!  His work on this earth is now complete.  I know the Lord greeted him in heaven with “Well done, my good and faithful servant!”.

Dear Canda, Mandy, Brian & family. I remember my first encounter with David back in 1992. He was on the pastor search team, and I was a young Seminary student hoping for my first pastorate. Never did I know that our lives would be knit together through our love for Jesus and the church for the next 12 years. You were there for us in both good and hardest of times. I will always remember you, Canda and Cheryl being with Holly and I though the loss of Anna. I will cherish the memory of you always.  Thank you for being a dear friend and brother. Praying for you all, dear ones.

I first worked with David in the 1990s during the height of ION at Sprint.  Later, I had the chance to get to know David more personally when visiting his church with my sister-in-law’s family who attended there as well.  I remember David as one of the sweetest and kindest personalities I’ve met.  He would always stop to talk with me, smiling all the while, and ask after me and my family.  He was one of those people you would always walk up to knowing you would feel the better for it.  I will miss David, and pray for God’s grace and mercy over his family at his passing.

I’ve worked with Dave for several years, at Sprint. We were usually the first in the office every morning and who ever got in first, made coffee. I made regular and Dave made de-caf. My condolences. He will be missed.

My condolences to the family and friends of David Hunt. We lost a great man and an ambassador of good conduct in how to treat people through constant demonstration of what Chist-like behavior is expected from all of us.

As a Sprint employee of 40+ years myself, I have interfaced with Dave many times over the years, so I know that a man like David is firmly in God’s memory. I look forward to greeting him in a better place. May God grant you the strength to endure this time as we await a time when we can meet again. Psalm 145:18 “Jehovah is near to all those calling on him, To all who call on him in truth.”

David, warm, kind & gentle disciple of Jesus, we will miss him, his voice, his smile. His love for his Savior and for God’s Word was very evident in him, and in his interactions with the people God placed in his life (we were blessed to be two of them). David did so much in our church family that it’s not possible to list them all: he taught group Bible studies, and in between pastors David often led the church service and preached sermons, he was a Sunday school teacher, and a deacon, and when a building or repair project was going on David was always there. He even helped fold bulletins on Sunday mornings. He helped with youth group, went on mission trips, and so very much more. David freely shared his joy in the Lord and educated others in living as a follower of Jesus. Mostly, he loved, and he served and he set an example of a life well lived, a life lived glorifying Jesus.

  • Todd Gordon

David was a true friend and brother in Christ to me. He was my Paul and my Barnabas and I was honored to be his Timothy. With deep & sincere love, Todd
