In Remembrance Of

David W. Auxier

David Wayne Auxier, 25, of Columbia, Missouri, formerly of Smithville, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, September 13, 2018.

David was born to Douglas and Melissa (Davidson) Auxier on November 15, 1992 in Liberty, Missouri. David and his sisters, Jennifer and Jill, grew up on the Auxier family farm in rural Edgerton, Missouri. David graduated from Smithville High School in 2011. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from the University of Missouri, Columbia, where he was a graduate student at the College of Veterinary Medicine.

David found the love of his life in Shannon (Keith) Auxier when he was just a sophomore in high school. The high school sweethearts were married among family and friends on June 11, 2016.

David spent as much time as possible helping on the family cattle farm, which ultimately inspired his decision to become a large animal vet. David enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, trapshooting, baseball, and fixing anything and everything in the shop with his dad. David was also a member of the Student Chapter American Veterinary Medical Association (SCAVMA), MU CVM Bovine Club and was a lifetime member of the NRA. David was a genuine, hard-working, courageous, Christian man, husband, son, brother, uncle and friend.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Lavern and Loretta Auxier and Denzil Davidson.

David is survived by his wife Shannon Auxier, their beloved cat Stanley; his parents Doug and Melissa Auxier; sisters Jenny (Jeff) Walton and Jill (Landon) Hale; nephew Connor Hale; grandmother Joyce Davidson; father and mother-in-law Kevin and Jocelyn Keith; sister-in-law Kyleigh Keith; other relatives and many friends.

Visitation: 5:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 18th at the First Baptist Church of Smithville, MO

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 19th at the church.

Shannon, you and your lovely family have been on my mind so much the past few days. I have watched you grow from a sweet, intelligent, sensitive 7th grader, to a warm, successful adult, beautiful nurse, supportive sibling, and loving wife. Let your loved ones share your grief and be your strength as you find your way over time- you cannot ask too much of those of us who love you! Blessings to you, Shannon and family, and know you are present in my thoughts, reminiscences and prayers.

Dear Shannon, Melissa, Doug, and family… I am so very sorry for your loss of David.

Fortunately, death is only a temporary part of life. Jesus promised us a wonderful resurrection of the dead (John 5:28,29/1 Thessalonians 4:13, 14), so we have the hope of being reunited with our deceased loved ones. In the meantime, even though the pain of loss through death may sometimes seem insurmountable, rest assured that God will give you the strength necessary to endure the coming months (Psalm 46:1).

Please accept my deepest sympathy and sincere condolences…. John

So very sorry for the tragic loss of David.
Life seems so unfair to lose a cherished loved one as was your son.
The Bible gives a beautiful future hope for those that have fallen asleep in death. Revelation 21:4; promises: “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore.” For more comforting scriptures please visit: jw.org.  The Bible and Bible based information found there has given me hope, strengthened my faith and helped me to find out why? I hope it will do the same for you.
    Sincerely
    D mullins

I am rarely out of words to say, but David’s passing has left me in uncomfortable situation. I got to know David/Dave during his Toxicology course last spring. He came to many of the review sessions, where we got to interact, and he worked really hard in that class to get an A. As a brother in Christ, I know I will see him again, but I am sincerely saddened that I won’t get to see him become the great large animal veterinarian he would have become. I will be praying for his loving wife and immediate family, as well as his extended family and friends. I will unfortunately be out of town this week, but my prayers will be with all those whose lives were touched by David.

I knew David when he was a student in the animal physiology lab class. He was always the quiet one in a group of three close friends. They were all good students and he was the calming influence whenever they started to get sidetracked in class. His loss is felt by many. My sympathies to his family and friends.
