David Shewey

DAVID R. SHEWEY

David R. Shewey, 71, of Trimble, Mo., passed away, Monday, January 1, 2007 at his home.

He was born on February 16, 1935 to Elton Ray and Florence Irene (Boydston) Shewey near Trimble, MO. He graduated from Plattsburg High School in 1953. He then served his country in the U.S. Navy. David then attended University of Missouri in Columbia where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture.

He was united in marriage to Marilyn Nelson. After their marriage they lived in Iowa, St. Louis, MO, and in 1973 they moved near Trimble, MO, where they farmed and made their home. His wife, Marilyn, passed away in 1974.

David was a member of the Stony Point Presbyterian Church, and served on the Stony Point Cemetery Board.

He was a flight instructor and worked for Anheiser-Busch in St. Louis, and owned Shewey Insurance Agency in Smithville.

David was also preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Franc E. Tinnen, and one brother, Lawrence Ray Shewey.

He is survived by two sons, Stephen B. Shewey, Yucca Valley, CA, and Michael A. Shewey, Trimble, MO; several nieces and nephews, including, Stephen and Sue Tinnen and Greg and Brenda Tinnen, Plattsburg, MO, Sheri and Don Caple, Maryland, and Kathy Nelson, Baltimore, MD, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services: 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 5th at the Stony Point Presbyterian Church, Trimble, MO., with visitation one hour prior to the service.
Burial: Stony Point Cemetery, Trimble, MO.
