David L. Nooning

David L. Nooning, 67, of Edgerton, MO passed away, Thursday, February 23, 2017.

He was born on October 23, 1949 to William “Bud” Celestine and Dorothy (Boone) Nooning in Kirksville, MO.  David graduated from Carrollton High School in 1967.  He then served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and Desert Storm, retiring after 22 years.

On August 5, 2011 he was united in marriage to Dena Boswell.  After their marriage they lived in Georgia, and recently moved to Edgerton.

David worked for the U.S. Postal Service after retiring from the military.  He was an avid gun collector, loved taking his grandchildren shooting, and reading.  David and Dena enjoyed their time traveling to Mexico.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Jim Nooning.

David is survived by his wife, Dena, of the home; children, Krystal Parsons, Tiffany Johnson and husband Dan and Patrick Nooning; grandchildren, Tyler and Kelsey Rushing, Shelby and Blake Boswell, McKinley Adamson, and Trevor and Carli Johnson, and great-granddaughter, Keeley Johnson; brother, Mike Nooning and wife Robin; and brother-in-law, Lynn Hawkins and wife Liz; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service:  11:00 a.m. March 1st at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Edgerton.

Burial with Military Honors:  Camden Point Cemetery.

Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Donations to the Veterans Community Project or the Camden Point Cemetery.
