David E. Stump

David E. Stump, 64 of Weston, MO, formerly of Platte City, MO passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2013.

 

He was born on December 30, 1948 to Ferman and Marjorie (Mann) Stump in Ft. Worth, Texas.  He grew up Lee’s Summit and Liberty and graduated from Liberty High School.  He then served his country in the U.S. Army as a Spec 5 during the Vietnam War.

 

David was a Deputy Sherriff for the Platte County Sherriff’s Department for over 20 years.  After his retirement he owned and operated Platte County Lawn Service.

 

He was a former member of the Platte City Baptist Church.   

 

David was preceded in death by his father and brother, Paul Stump.

 

He is survived by his daughters, Becky Brooks, Tammy Ryan and husband John, and Carrie Skidmore; eleven grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and his mother, Marjorie Stump.

 

Memorial Service:  10:00 a.m. Friday, November 15^th at the First Baptist Church in Platte City.
