David C. Bloomberg
David Colvin Bloomberg, 85, of Dearborn, MO, passed away, Friday, October 30, 2009.
He was born October 27, 1924 to John Albert and Beulah May (Davis) Bloomberg in Frankfort, Kansas. He grew up in Wathena, Kansas and later graduated from Dearborn High School. He then served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII.
On March 3, 1944 he was united in marriage to Doris E. Todd. After their marriage they lived in Dearborn where they made their home.
David worked for TWA as Customer Service Agent and also farmed near Dearborn. He was a member of the Dearborn United Methodist Church where he previously served as the Chairman of the Board. David served as the Mayor of Dearborn for 15 years and was instrumental in starting the sewer system. David and Doris also owned and operated Yesterday’s Memories Antique Shop in Dearborn. He was honored with the Man of Year Award for Dearborn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, John Bloomberg.
David is survived by his wife, Doris, of the home; daughter, Susan Crowley and husband, Harold, Dearborn; grandchildren, Chris Crowley and wife, Ashley, and Amanda Graham and husband, Martin; great-grandson, Scott Mitchell Crowley; other relatives and many friends.
Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 8th at the Dearborn United Methodist Church in Dearborn with visitation at 1:30 p.m. prior to the service.
Inurnment: Old Frame Cemetery.
