David Bohart
David Boyd Bohart, 83, of Smithville, MO passed away February 24, 2025.
He was born on June 21, 1941, to Clarence Leonard and Vivian Vernice (Boyd) Bohart in Kansas City, MO. David attended Southeast High School in Kansas City, MO.
David was an auto mechanic and retired from Major Cadillac in Kansas City, MO and he was a member of the Lathrop Antique Club. David had a passion for working with his hands and could often be found tinkering in his workshop. He enjoyed repairing old lawnmowers and other antique machinery. He loved spending his mornings having coffee with his friends at McDonald’s in Smithville and having lunch at the Smithville Senior Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Vernice Bohart.
David is survived by his daughters Lorie (Randy) Moorman and Lynette (Steve) Mitchell; grandchildren Ethan Norris, Rebecca (Shelby) Herring-Mitchell and Kristina (Brooks) Miller; great-grandchildren Thach Norris and Thyra Norris; other relatives and many friends.
Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 7th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home in Smithville, MO.
Family Inurnment will be held at Community of Smithville Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
Donations may be made to the Smithville Senior Center.

Sincere sympathy to Lorie, Lynette and their families. Dick has fond memories of rebuilding those old lawn mowers with David and ending up with motorized scooters and other weapons of mass destruction! And many good memories of family reunions through the years. David will be missed by all.
