DAVID A. BOWMAN
David A. Bowman, 77, of Kansas City North, passed away, Tuesday, April 11, 2006.
He was born on September 26, 1928 to Johnnie Crimes and Molly Stowers (Wade) Bowman in Harrison, Mississippi, and the family later moved to Kansas City, Missouri.
He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII and the Korean War. After his honorable discharge he returned to Kansas City.
On January 6, 1951 he was united in marriage to Bernice P. Scobee. After their marriage they lived in Kansas City, north of the river.
David was a water technician for City of Gladstone for many years, retiring in 1983.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Valorie Lynn Martin, one sister, Clara Eula Jones, and one brother, Carol Bowman.
David is survived by his wife, Bernice, of the home, son and daughter-in law, David E. and Dawn Bowman, Smithville, MO, daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Vince Gordon, Kansas City North, four grandchildren, two sisters, Cattie Reid, San Diego, CA, and Mattie B. Kennedy, Overland Park, KS, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Graveside Service and Inurnment: 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Smithville, MO.
Visitation: 1:00-2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville, MO.
