DAVE W. HARTLEY
David Wesley Hartley, 51, of Smithville, MO passed away Thursday July 13, 2006 at his home.
He was born on July 6, 1955 to Norman and Mary “Molly” (Bradshaw) Hartley in Seymour, Indiana. Dave grew up in Saudi Arabia where his father was employed. The family later moved to Smithville where Dave attended Smithville High School. Dave then served his country in the US Army in the First Armored Division as a Tank Commander during the Vietnam era.
On March 30, 1982 he was united in marriage to Sherri Adamson. After their marriage they lived in Smithville where they made their home.
Dave worked as a mechanic for Fruehauf Trailers in Kansas City for over 12 years and was a member and Union Steward for the I.A.M.
Dave was preceded in death by his mother Molly.
He is survived by his wife, Sherri, sons, Dylan, Nathan and Ryan all of the home, granddaughter, Chaney Hartley, father Norman and his wife, Pauline, Pharr, TX, brother, John Hartley and wife, Debbie, Shawnee, OK, mother-in-law, Virginia Green, Smithville, numerous aunts, uncles and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday July 15th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville visitation from 10:00-11:00 prior to the service.
Private burial at Leavenworth National Cemetery
