DAVE McCLELLAND

Dave McClelland, 63, of Gower, Mo., passed away unexpectedly at the hospital in St. Joseph, Thursday, July 28, 2005.

He was born on October 20, 1941 to Jewell Vernon and Margaret Elizabeth (Barnhill) McClelland near Gower, Mo., where he grew up and later graduated from Gower High School in 1959. Dave then served his country in the U.S. Navy.

On December 7, 1963 he was united in marriage to Erma Stanton. She preceded him in death in 1967. On December 23, 1972 he married Judy Scearce and they lived in Gower.

Dave worked for Dougdale Packing House and Johnson Controls in St. Joseph. He was a truck driver for Everett Quarries and Frazier & Farris both in Gower, and retired from Star Trans Inc. in 2003.

He was a member of the KCTA Trap Team in Smithville.

Dave was preceded in death by his father, one brother, Billy McClelland and one sister, Pam McClelland.

He is survived by one daughter, Stacy Adkins and husband, Chuck, Gower, Mo., two sons, Terry McClelland, St. Louis, Mo., and Ryan McClelland and wife, Brandy, Gower, Mo., seven grandchildren, Charlie, Jessica, Dallas, Taylor, McKenzie, Tanner, and Madison Lou, his mother, Margaret McClelland, Gower, Mo., one sister, Barbara Drake and husband, Darrell, Hutchinson, Ks., several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services: 2:00 p.m. Sunday July 31st at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower, Mo.
Burial: Mt. Zion Cemetery, Gower.
Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
