Darlene Wilson

Darlene Wilson, 95, of Smithville, MO passed away, September 13, 2024.

She was born on August 27, 1929 to Luther Clark and Lona (Swinson) Owen in Smithville, MO. Darlene grew up in Smithville and graduated from Smithville High School as Valedictorian in 1947.

On May 16, 1958 she was united in marriage to Lloyd Wilson. After their marriage they made their home in Smithville. Her husband preceded her in death on August 19, 2019.

Darlene retired from Fleming Foods after 20 years. She was an avid Royals fan and loved to travel. Most of all she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly.

Darlene was a member of the First Baptist Church in Smithville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sisters, Jennie Peterman and Mary Citlau.

Darlene is survived by her children, John (Teresa) Wilson, Carol Wilson, and Carla Berner; grandchildren, Christina (Brent) Bowman, Jason Berner, and Kathryn Wilson; great-grandchildren, Jaxon Caw, Bentlee Bowman, Cashus Bowman; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 17th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville with visitation one hour prior to the service.
Burial: Community of Smithville Memorial Cemetery.
Donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
