Darlene (Masoner) Blankenship

Darlene Blankenship, 78 of Edgerton, MO, went home to her Lord and Savior, Wednesday, November 23, 2016.

She was born on May 13, 1938 to Ralph S. and Maudilene (McMillian) Masoner in Edgerton, MO.  She grew up in Edgerton and attended North Platte School.

On January 11, 1957 she was united in marriage to Spencer Leroy Blankenship.  After their marriage they lived in Edgerton where they made their home.  Her husband, Leroy, passed away, February 5, 2014.

Darlene was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church and the Edgerton Eastern Star for many years.

She was also preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Christine Stubbs and Norma Logan, and one brother, R.C. Masoner.

Darlene survived by her daughter, Wendy Shipley and husband Mike; son, Spencer Blankenship and wife Lori; grandsons, Ryan (Jennifer) Ralston, Jared (Jennifer) Blankenship, Cody (Kortnee) Blankenship, and Jacob (Ashlee) Blankenship; eleven great-grandchildren, Rayce, Rex, Karrigan, Kendall, Karson, Konner, Addison, Bella, Cree, Ava, Mattie Mae, and Grace Ann; brother, R.L. Masoner; and sister, Hilda Nash; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service:  2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Edgerton, with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Burial:  Ridgely Cemetery

Arrangements Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Edgerton.

Donations may be made to the University of Kansas Cancer Center or the Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

    Wendy & Spencer,    I'm so sorry to hear about your mom.  She always had a warm smile and big hug for me any time I saw her.  She was a very special lady.   My heart goes out to you both.
