Emily & The Boys are constantly in our prayers and thoughts. Darin was a fabulous teacher who made countless positive contributions to enrich the lives of our students and all who knew him. He was so kind, witty, curious, and courageous. The love he had for his family was the kind of awesome love that would leave you inspired and challenged to do better.

Emily, boys and extended family – we’re hopeful you already know our feelings about this – for all of you. Our hearts, like yours, remain broken, but yet rejoice knowing Darin’s soul is with the Lord and there is no more cancer or pain. We know what type of person Darin was, and his smile and sense of humor will live on through you and the boys. NO doubt ….he’ll be missed greatly. As always, lean on family and friends for your support when you need it, including us. Allow us to help as we would feel honored to do so. Love all of you guys. We pray for your peace and understanding, and one day, we’ll get to find out the answer as to the “why?”

My heart is breaking for Darin’s family. We worked together on several NKC committees and cohorts. He was always our voice of calm and reason when several of us were emotional. His quiet thoughtfulness and timely sense of humor, but most of his heart will be greatly missed. Prayers for all who’ve been touched by Darin’s smile and grace.
