Dallas W. Sellars

Dallas W. Sellars, 67, of Smithville MO passed away, Wednesday, July 24, 2013.

 

He was born on June 10, 1946 to Charlie E. Sellars and Catherine Josephine (Smith) Hixson.  Dallas grew up in the Edgerton and Smithville area and graduated from Gower High School. 

 

On September 11, 1981 he was united in marriage to Vicki Rule.  After their marriage they lived in Smithville where they made their home.

 

Dallas was a painter for many years.  He was a barber in Smithville for over 30 years.   Dallas was the owner and operator of Big D’s Barber and Style and also worked at Bill’s Barber Shop.

 

Dallas was a member of the Smithville Masonic Lodge and the Smithville Optimist Club.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Charles “Punk” Sellars and James “Biggin” Sellars, sister-in-law, Betty Sellars; cousins Jack and Sue Bywaters.

 

Dallas is survived by his wife, Vicki, of the home; children, Diana McBee and husband Jimmy, Mandi Sellars, Lisa McClelland, Jason Burchette and wife Susan; ten grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; other relatives and many friends.

 

Masonic Service:  10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 27th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville with visitation following until 1:00 p.m.

 

Donations may be made to Smithville Masonic Lodge.

    As a fellow graduate from Gower in 1964 I was able to count Dallas as a friend and I know he will be missed. He always had a smile on his face. My heart felt thoughts go out to his family and friends.
