Dale W. Spencer
Dale William Spencer, 67 of Gower, MO passed away, Sunday February 10, 2013 at his home.
He was born on November 1, 1945 to George William “Dub” and Glenna Mae (Pierce) Spencer in rural Easton, MO. Dale graduated from Easton High School in 1963. He then joined the U.S. Army Reserves for six years.
On February 22, 1969 he was united in marriage to Zellma R. Poage in Plattsburg. After their marriage they lived in Gower where they made their home.
Dale was a self-employed contractor, owning and operating Spencer-West Construction for many years.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, and was an avid sports fan. Dale loved spending time with his grandchildren and following their activities.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, sister, Glenna Stafford, and sister-in-law, Ruth Poage.
Dale is survived by his wife, Zellma, of the home; children, Lonnie and Angie Spencer; Kent and Tammie Spencer, all of Gower; grandchildren, Logan, Zachary, Morgan, Mason and Seth; brothers, Gene Spencer and wife Sharon, and Richard Spencer and wife Pat; brothers-in-law, Larry Poage, Don Poage and wife Terryon, and Roger Poage and wife Jayne; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 14th at the Gower Christian Church.
Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
Donations may be made to the American Lung Association.
