Dale Gene Bower

Dale Gene Bower, 81, of Easton, MO, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2011 at the home.

Dale was born on January 19, 1930 in Hemple, MO to Frank Douglas and Minnie Boyer (Long) Bower. He graduated from Stewartsville High School in 1947. On November 21, 1953 he married Joanne Beltramo who survives at the home.

Dale was a devoted husband, father of four and a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren and one great grandson. Dale had his own general contracting business for nearly 40 years and built over 100 homes and businesses in St Joseph area before retiring.

He was also a retired farmer which he enjoyed immensely. Dale was an avid supporter of the East Buchanan School district and served on the school board for 14 years several of which he was president. He loved sports and attended numerous school functions. Other than his family his joy was the friends he visited with daily at the coffee shop and of course his dog Jake. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.

Dale is survived by his wife Joanne Bower of 58 years, his four children, Michael Bower, Steven Bower, Jody Bower, Kelly (Bower) Womack, his seven grandchildren, Carrie (Bower) Stephens, Frank Bower, Andy Bower, Kelsey Bower, Cory Bower, DeVon Henderson, Kayla Womack, and great-grandson William Stephens. Despite him living a rich full 81 years they wish he could have lived forever.

A Celebration of Dale’s Life will be held at 6:30 p.m. with visitation following until 8:30 p.m. Thursday December 22nd at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home with Sister Barbara officiating.

A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers a memorial contribution may be made to the East Buchanan Athletic Department in Gower, MO.

    Sorry for your loss. Mr Bower was someone to look up to. I know how much he loved his grandchildren. He talked alot about them when we had coffee at the roundtable. God Bless, Jack & Beverly
