CS Stenner

CS Stenner, Jr., 66 of Platte City, MO, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 21, 2010 at 6:25 p.m., after a long battle with COPD. He went peacefully at home in the arms of his loving wife and surrounded by family and close friends.

CS was born on November 22, 1943 in Kansas City, MO. He attended school in the North Kansas City School District and in 1962 graduated from North Kansas City High School. A proud veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served aboard the USS Oriskiny from 1962 to 1966.

He worked for TWA from 1966 until his retirement in 2000. He was a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and was an active lifetime member of the NRA.

His faith in God was of utmost importance along with a tremendous love for his family, his country and freedom. He enjoyed his land, his boxers and watching the wild birds that visited his many feeders. Travel, coin collecting and woodworking were among his numerous hobbies that kept him busy during his retirement. One of his greatest joys, was Sunday gatherings at home with his family.

Preceding him to heaven were his parents, CS and Virginia Loraine (Ousley) Stenner and brother, Jon Leon Stenner.

He is survived by his adoring wife, Debrah Ann (Hersh) Stenner, of the home; children, Tuesday Lee (Stenner) Turner and husband, Bruce, Grandview, MO, JD Stenner, Washington, DC, Matthew T Stenner and wife, Christy, Kansas City, MO, Mark T Stenner and wife, Angel, Tracey, MO; 16 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers, Albert Lee Stenner, Kansas City, MO, Carl David Stenner, Kansas City, MO; sister, Virginia Ruth (Stenner) Grove and husband Jim, Grandview, MO, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Memorial Service: 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 24th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville with visitation from 4:00-7:00 prior to the service.

Private burial Camden Point Cemetery

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting contributions to the building fund of the First Baptist Church of Platte City. Being a devoted Christian, nothing would please him more than helping build the church so close to his home.
