As the publisher of The Edgerton/Platte County Citizen, I had many interactions with Mr. Kindred over the years. I knew him as a friendly man and a successful business owner, a civic leader in Smithville. However, I was not fully aware of wide range of experiences and the many honors that filled his long life. I truly regret we didn’t interview him about some of them for the newspaper. My sincere condolences to the family.

  • Patrick Broderick (son of John L. Broderick car sales)

My sincere condolences for the loss of your father. He was a truly great and memorable man. He was always very kind to me when I would come to the dealership when my dad was selling cars there. He was certainly full of life and he lived a full life!

Sending sympathy and love to Lou and Carolyn and Valerie and families from all of us Miller’s (Bub, Peg, Rader, Laurie and families). We have so many fond memories of Colonel–both our own and those shared by our parents.
    Rest in peace.

I have so much respect for this man, he was such a positive person in my life. Always giving me a hard time (for fun) and always had a smile. May he rest in piece and his family be filled with love and pride. He will be missed.
