CLYDE F. MOORE
Clyde F. Moore, 81, of Gower, Mo., passed away, Thursday, July 28,2005 at his home.
He was born on May 31, 1924 to Samuel J. and Nelma Arline (Wilkerson) Moore in Rochelle, Illinois where he graduated from high school.
Clyde then joined the U.S. Army, where he served for over 24 years, during W.W. II and the Korean War, retiring as a Sgt. Major in 1970.
On October 15, 1946 he was united in marriage to Maxine I. Bennett. After retiring from the military they moved to Oregon, Illinois where Clyde served as the Ogle County Treasurer and in 1989 they moved to Gower where they made their home.
Clyde was a member of the Gower American Legion Post 393 and the Disabled American Veterans.
He enjoyed the outdoors and loved golfing and watching his grandchildren play sports.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Charles Moore and one sister, Rosemary Cline.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine of the home, son; Charles W. Moore and wife, Sharon, Ft. Myers, Florida, daughter; Linda L. Snyder and husband, Ron, Gower, grandson; Jeffrey Alan Snyder, granddaughter; Lyndsay Ann Snyder, great-granddaughter; Bridgett Leeann Sherrill, three step-grandchildren; Tina, Kim and Tim, other relatives and many friends.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 11:00 A.M., Monday, August 1, 2005 at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower.
BURIAL: 2:30 P.M., Monday, at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
VISITATION: 6:30-8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
