CLIFFORD L. McFADDEN, SR.
Clifford L. McFadden, Sr., 88, of St. Joseph, formerly of Gower, MO went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, December 13, 2005. He passed away at his home surrounded by his loved ones.
Clifford was born on August 8, 1917 in Edgerton, MO. He resided most of his life in Gower. He married Flavis Maxine Taylor on February 24, 1939 in St. Joseph. They were blessed with 66 years of marriage.
Clifford served in the Navy during World War II in the South Pacific. He was a very active member of the American Legion Post #393 in Gower and touched many lives through his service. After he retired from Standard Oil Company, he spent the rest of his life hunting and fishing with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was an avid supporter of the Gower Bulldogs and enjoyed watching his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine, of the home and two sons, Clifford L. McFadden, Jr., and wife, Donna, St. Joseph, and James Robert McFadden and wife, Linda, Smithville. He had six grandchildren, Tamara L. Scott and husband Mark, Clifford L. McFadden III and wife, Terry, Michael D. McFadden and wife, Amber, all of St. Joseph, Julie I. Risalvato and husband Phillip, Blue Springs, Mo., R. Taylor McFadden, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, and J. Kirk McFadden, Atchison, KS. There are 11 great-grandsons, Tyler and Aaron Scott, Lee and Blake McFadden, Eli and Micah McFadden, Brady, Patrick, P.J. and Vinnie Risalvato and Chris McFadden.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 2:00 P.M., Friday, December 16th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower.
BURIAL WITH MILITARY HONORS: Allen Cemetery, Gower
VISITATION: 7:00-8:00 P.M., Thursday, at the funeral home, where friends may call anytime after noon Thursday.
