Clarence Wesley Knox
Clarence Wesley Knox, 71, of Platte City, MO, passed away, Sunday, January 4, 2009.
He was born on October 3, 1937 to Jasper and Myrtle “Toots” (Watley) Knox in Waverly, Missouri. He attended school and grew up near Platte City and later graduated from Platte City High School. He then served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves as a Chopper Mechanic.
On December 13, 1961 he was united in marriage to Shirley Rogers. After their marriage they lived in the Basswood area near Platte City where they made their home.
Clarence worked for Cook Paint in North Kansas City for over 42 years.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley, of the home, three children, Judy Wilson and husband, Pat, Polo, MO, Laura Collier, Cloburn, Texas, and William W. “Wes” Knox and wife, Marjorie, Edgerton, MO; eight grandchildren, Augusta, Misty, Johnathan, Aaron, Corey, Britney, Jennifer, and Haley; two great-grandchildren, Adin and Bryce, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 7th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
Burial: Ridgely Cemetery, Ridgely, MO.
