Christina “Chris” Caldwell

Sarah Christina Caldwell, 96, of Deepwater, MO formerly of Kansas City, MO passed away, Friday, November 3, 2017.

 

She was born on May 7, 1921 to Charley Augusta and Grace May (Simmons) Roby in Clinton, MO where she grew up and attended school.

 

Chris raised her children in Clinton and lived in Kansas City for over 25 years.  She was a chef The American Restaurant in Crown Center and General Motors Plant in Kansas City.  For the last 20 years Chris has resided in Deepwater.

 

Chris enjoyed cooking, gardening, fishing, dancing, and spending time with family & friends.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Griffin Caldwell; her children, Audrey Statham, Norma Lee Riead, Pat Minich, Sonny Caldwell, and Brenda Hutchison; and grandchildren, Jody Bixel, Cathy
Barber, and Jason Caldwell

 

Chris is survived by several grandchildren including, Johnny Dolinger, Natalie Burton, Lynnette Conkling, John Riead, Sherry Riead, Mike Riead, Donald Riead, Cindy Harmer, Tim Riead, Shane Hutchison, Angela Koehler, Kevin Caldwell, Tim Caldwell, John Caldwell, Christena Houchens, Jeff Bixel, and Jennifer Lon, numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; her dog, Rufus; other relatives and many friends. 

 

Memorial Service:  7:00 p.m. Monday, November 6th Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville, MO with visitation following until 8:30 p.m.
