In Remembrance Of
Christian Wright
GOWER, MO – Christian Dale Wright, 64, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Gower, MO, on Monday, February 12, 2018. Chris lived most of his adult life in the Derby and Wichita, KS, areas.
Chris was born August 26, 1953, in St Joseph, MO, and was the second of eight children born to Vernon A “Pee Wee” and Rose Mary (Kirschbaum) Wright.
Chris grew up on the family farm in Amity and graduated from Maysville High School. His siblings have many fond memories of competitive card, board, and yard games – most of which Chris won. Chris was quick-witted and at times an ornery cuss, having played many practical jokes on them through the years.
As a teen Chris often accompanied his dad to the St. Joseph Stockyards and area salebarns. This background in buying cattle led to a long career as the manager of Wellington Quality Meats, in Wellington, KS. He later worked for Metro Courier, in Wichita, KS.
Chris married the love of his life, Deborah Mae Gaiser, on September 17, 1972. They divorced many years later but had two children from this union. Chris was a hard-working and loving family man who thought the world of his grandchildren. He enjoyed sports and was a big fan of the Royals and the Chiefs. He was of the Christian faith.
Chris was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Craig. He is survived by his two children. Troy (Delaine) Wright, Wichita, KS; and Kim (Brian) Kinne, Palm Bay, FL; six grandchildren, Regan (Austin) Lumpkins, Falecia Parker, Nathan Wright, Gavin Wright, Madison Kinne, and Briley Kinne. He is also survived by 6 siblings: Deb Wright, St. Joseph, MO; Linda (Denny) Blum, Oregon, MO; Julie (Sam) Blackwell, Cameron, MO; Brian (Glenda) Wright, Wellington, KS; Ace Wright, St Joseph, MO; and Eric (Sonia) Wright, Gower, MO; as well as many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces/nephews. Not to be forgotten among his survivors are many cousins, some of whom were like brothers and sisters to him, and their children; as well as many dear friends.
His body has been cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be left at www.hkfuneralhome.com.

My fondest memory of Chris was when we were visiting one summer from California. Chris was my Cousin. I don’t remember how old I was, very young I can say. We were getting ready to eat breakfast (Aunt Mary always made the best meals) and Chris came in from outside and asked me if I wanted to take a ride with him on Snow White. I went and was so excited…! Being from the city, I had never been on a horse before. I held on tight to him and off we went. Looking back, it was such a beautiful feeling and experience.
Whenever I see a white horse I can’t help but to think of him and that ride…
My prayers are with all of you “Wrights.” We had many wonderful times together, even as I write this tears fill my eyes with sadness yet joy and love.
I Love You All So Much……..
