Cherry King
Cherry King, 64, of Kearney, MO passed away, March 16, 2025.
She was born on February 4, 1961 to Delbert Ray and Joyce Coleen (Wayman) Boggess in Smithville, MO. Cherry grew up in Kearney and graduated from Kearney High School in 1979. She later graduated from Paris II School of Cosmetology.
On September 6, 1986 she was united in marriage to James King. After their marriage they lived in the Smithville and Kearney area where they made their home.
She owned and operated Cherry’s Family Hair Care in Edgerton, MO for many years. In her younger years she played softball. She enjoyed camping, her flowers, had a great sense of style and most of all loved spending time with her grandson.
Cherry was preceded in death by her mother.
She is survived by her husband, Jim; sons, Nathan King and Isaac King; grandson, Ranson King; father, Delbert Boggess; and brother, Anthony (Kathy) Boggess; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 22nd at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home in Smithville with visitation one hour prior to the service.
A Private Family Inurnment will be held at a later date at Muddy Fork Cemetery, Holt, MO.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
