Chaz Wildberger

Chaz Edward Wildberger, 34, of St. Joseph, MO passed away October 20, 2024.

He was born on October 11, 1990, in St. Joseph, MO where he grew up and graduated from Lafayette High School in 2009.

Chaz was an avid sports card collector and fan with knowledge of past and current players and stats of football, basketball and baseball. He loved talking to anyone, of any age, about any sport, at anytime and was a guest on many nationwide sports talk shows, pod casts and radio. He was known for his big heart, infectious smile and contagious laugh. Chaz would help anyone at anytime and was an amazing son, grandson, brother and friend.

He is survived by his mother Shelly Leader; his brother Zachary Leader; grandparents Ed and Connie Wildberger; many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

The family would like to honor Chaz by having you wear your favorite Chiefs, Royals or MU gear to the visitation.

A Celebration of life Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 24th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home in Gower.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Joseph Animal Shelter.

Private family burial will be held at Allen Cemetery, Gower, MO.

I had several interesting conversations on baseball history with Chaz. He was well-informed on that topic. I’m sorry I was not able to attend the visitation; I just returned this evening from Tulsa. Chaz was a pleasant young man. I smile when I recall the conversations we shared.

    Shelly and I had our boys 4 months apart. She lived across the street from my family for a very long time. I watched Chaz grow up, watched our boys play baseball with grandpa Ed My heart hurts so I can’t t even imagine how the family is feeling.
