Charles R. “C.R.” Benner
Charles R. “C.R.” Benner, 79, of Kansas City, Missouri, formerly of Dearborn, MO, passed away, August 3, 2010.
He was born on September 13, 1930 to John Jacob and Lovetta Catherine (German) Benner in Agency, Missouri. C.R. grew up and attended school in Dearborn, Missouri.
On February 24, 1951 he was united in marriage to Frances Herdman of Ridgely. After their marriage they lived in Kansas City, Missouri where they made their home.
C.R. worked for Beyers Crushed Rock as the plant manager retiring after 27 years. He was a member of Labors Union Local 663. C.R. and Frances owned and operated Benner Trucking. Upon his retirement from Beyers he devoted his attention to further development of Benner Trucking.
He was a former member of the BPOE in Kansas City for many years.
C.R. was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Genevieve Farris.
He is survived by his wife, Frances of 59 years; daughter, Marilyn Sue Light; Lenexa, KS; son, Michael Charles Benner and wife, Karen, Lee’s Summit, MO; three beautiful granddaughters, Erin, Melanie and Chelsea Rose; other relatives and many, many friends.
Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 7th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville with visitation from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
Burial: Ridgely Cemetery, Ridgely, MO.
