Charles Edward Nichols

Charles
Edward Nichols, 78, of Smithville MO, formerly of St. Joseph, MO passed away
July 14, 2015.

 

He
was born on April 13, 1937 to Charles Edward and Georgia A. (Harris) Nichols in
Cosby, MO and graduated from Savannah High School in 1955.
  Charlie then served his country in the Air
National Guard.

 

On
August 23, 1957 he was united in marriage to Wilma Jean Miller Yount.
  They had four children.  Charlie later married Jessie Schroeder and
her nine children on September 8, 1973.
 
After their marriage they lived in Smithville where they made their
home.
 

 

Charlie
farmed for many years and later was a heavy equipment mechanic.
  He was a member of the Blue Marble AA Group
in North Kansas City and the Smithville Area Volunteer Fire Department.
  He loved raising cattle.

 

He
was preceded in death by his parents, son Larry Yount, Sr., a sister Patty
Vance and his dog Tara.

 

Charlie
is survived by his wife Jessie Nichols; children Roger E. Yount, Sr. and wife
Kathy, Edward H. Nichols, Nancy Manley and husband Richard, Joyce Britt and
husband Kenneth, Jeanette Leslie and husband Larry, Dwight Schroeder and wife
Linda, G. Jeanne Epperson, Carl Schroeder and wife Mary, Jerri Schroeder,
Jennifer Chambers and husband Robbie, Jill Schroeder, and Jesse Schroeder;
twenty-six grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren;
sisters Noma Meers and husband Kenneth and Mary Schubert and husband Bill;
several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

 

Funeral
Service:
  8:00 p.m. Friday, July 17th
with visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m. prior to the service at Hixson-Klein
Funeral Home, Smithville

Donations
may be made to Liberty Hospital Hospice.
