Charles E. “Charlie” Wright

Charles
Edward “Charlie” Wright, 89 of Platte City, MO passed away, Friday, July 17,
2015.

 

He
was born on November 13, 1925 to Charles Edward, Sr. and Verdie Elizabeth (Miller)
Wright in Camden Point, MO.  Charlie grew
up in Camden Point and graduated from Camden Point High School in 1943. In June
1943 Charlie enlisted in the Merchant Marines and served in the Pacific Theater
during WWII.  He was discharged in August
1945.

 

On
December 27, 1946 he was united in marriage to Evelyn Bryan.  After their marriage they lived in Camden Point
and in 1955 they moved to Platte City where they made their home.

 

He
was a member of the Platte City Baptist Church. 

 

Charlie
was a contractor in the construction business in the Platte County area for
many years.  In later years, he worked
for the Platte County Water District.  Charlie
gave generously of his time and talents to anyone that needed his assistance. 

 

He
was preceded in death by his parents.

 

He
is survived by his wife, Evelyn, of the home; daughters, Cathy Rose and husband
Bob and Trudy Luther and husband Kelvin; granddaughter, Taylor Ritter; sisters,
Virginia Wright and Shirley Winter; several nieces and nephews, other relatives
and many friends.

 

Graveside
Service:  1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 22nd
at New Market Cemetery, New Market, MO.

Arrangements,
Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower.

In lieu of flowers,donations
may be made to NorthCare Hospice.
