Charles “Chuggie” Masoner
Charles “Chuggie” Masoner, 73 of Edgerton, MO passed away, Saturday, December 7, 2013.
He was born on May 13, 1940 to William Teeter Eugene and Edna (Louise) Boydston Masoner in Edgerton, MO. He grew up in the Edgerton area and graduated from North Platte High School.
On March 22, 1963 he was united in marriage to Carolyn Sue Lane. After their marriage they lived in Edgerton where they made their home.
Chuggie was a home builder with Charlie Woodson for several years. He was a Deputy Sheriff for Platte County for over 5 years, and was a Police Officer in Platte City for 18 years also serving as Police Chief. Chuggie retired as a Security Officer for St. Luke’s Northland Hospital after 10 years of service.
He was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Chuggie was a Scout Master for many years and a member of the Mic-O-Say Tribe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Velma Pulliam, son Michael Masoner.
Chuggie is survived by his wife, Carolyn, of the home; son, Steven Masoner and wife Melissa; grandson, Branden Masoner; two great-grandchildren, Alexxus and Truitt Masoner; two step-grandchildren, Erika and Kyle Ewing; sister, Bettie Masoner, several nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, and many friends.
Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 12th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Edgerton, MO.
Burial: Ridgely Cemetery
Visitation: 6:30-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Donations may be made to the Boy Scout Troop #714.
