In Remembrance Of
Cathy Irene Pierce
Cathy Irene Pierce of Kansas City, Missouri passed away unexpectedly Friday, March 6, 2020.
She was born February 3, 1948 to William Richard Pierce and Anita Irene (Merrit) Pierce. Cathy graduated from Park Hill High School in 1966. She then graduated from Northwest Missouri State in 1970 with a degree in Accounting. She was a cheerleader all 8 of those years.
Cathy worked for American Multicinema, Girl Scouts, Rockhurst College and, in her retirement, enjoyed working at Major Lumber in Smithville with her many Smithville friends.
She loved to travel internationally, after college to Europe and most recently to Australia, and also enjoyed real travel adventures like a Covered Wagon Trip and camping with friends.
While Cathy had many achievements in her life and career, most importantly she was a super family member. She cared for her parents and did all she could to help them. Dad called her his ‘main man’. She also helped each of her siblings in their individual time of need. She just took charge and did what she could to help. Cathy will be sorely missed by all of her family.
In her death, she donated what she could to help others.
Cathy is survived by her three sisters, Anita Olshanski of TheVillages, FL, Mary James of Kansas City, MO, and Patricia Pierce (Trissy) of Tampa, FL; one brother William Robert Pierce of Independence, MO; other relatives and many friends.
Celebration of Life: 10:30 a.m. with visitation following until 12:00 p.m. (noon) Saturday, June 5th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville.

This final service is going to break my heart. Cathy was one ‘all good’ person. I doubt anyone ever disliked her. She was always ready to help. I loved her with all my heart.
