Catherine (Shea) Ruff

Catherine Ruff, 83 of Smithville, MO passed away, Thursday, April 16, 2015.

She was born on March 3, 1932 to Edwin Timothy and Marie Rose (Collins) Shea in Kansas City, Kansas. Catherine grew up in Turner, KS and graduated from Turner High School in 1950.

On June 7, 1950 she was united in marriage to Edward James Ruff, Sr. After their marriage they lived in Argentine, KS, Mission, KS, Barstow, CA, Topeka, KS, and in 1986 they moved to Smithville, MO. Her husband, Ed, passed away December 28, 2010.

She was a member of the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, where she volunteered her time. Catherine was an avid Royals fan and enjoyed fishing.

Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Edwin Shea, Jr., and her sister, Maxine Greer.

She is survived by her son, Ed Ruff, Jr., Merriam, KS; daughters, Jean Tookolo and husband Terry, Overland Park, KS and Carol Flood and husband John, Kansas City, MO; five grandchildren, Ed Ruff III and wife Whitney, Jennifer Ruff, Lauren Porter, Lynsie Morris and husband Wade, and Donna Abbott and husband Jason; great-grandsons, Sam, Jack, and Brad; sisters, Delores Taylor and husband Bob and Helen Martin; other relatives and many friends.

Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 21st at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Smithville, MO.

Burial: Resurrection Cemetery, Kansas City, MO.
Rosary: 6:00 p.m. Monday at Good Shepherd Catholic Church with visitation following until 8:00 p.m.
