In Remembrance Of

Catherine Nadine (Mallen) Owens

Catherine Nadine Owens, 77, of Platte City, MO passed away, Friday, July 12, 2013 at her home.

She was born on April 30, 1936 to Thomas J and Georgia Ann (Golden) Mallen in Plattsburg, MO and graduated from Plattsburg High School.

Nadine lived in rural Camden Point for many years where she worked diligently and took great pride in the family farm. She married Don Currier in 1989 and they built their home in Platte City together where they continued to reside.  She worked for the Clinton County Recorder’s Office, Platte County Court House, Camden Point Bank, and was a broker and owner of Owens Realty for over 30 years.

Nadine was a member of Twelve Apostles Catholic Church in Platte City and former member of Holy Trinity in Weston, MO.

Nadine was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Richard Bart Owens; and brother, Richard Mallen.

Nadine will be remembered as a loving and wonderful mother, wife, grandmother, and sister. She was a true and dear friend to many people. Her generosity and kindness to others was incredible—she gave so much to so many. Nadine never met a stranger and she would light up a room with her wonderful sense of humor. She loved watching sporting events(esp. MU and Notre Dame), hitting the occasional “jackpot” at Argosy, but mostly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
