In Remembrance Of

Cary Singleton

The Lord called Cary Dean Singleton home, passing of natural causes on September 30, 2022.

He was born on January 14, 1961, to Richard Wayne and Sylvia Bell (Figg) Singleton in San Antonio, TX.  Cary grew up in Mendon, MO and later graduated from Chillicothe High School.  He attended the University of Missouri – Columbia earning a Bachelors Degree in Agricultural Education and a minor in Ag Econ.  While attending MU he met the love of his life, Marta Sieveking, and they were united in marriage on May 21, 1983.  After living in several areas across Missouri, they settled in Dearborn where they raised their family and made their home.

Professionally he was a banker, but if you asked him what he did Cary would say he took care of people.  He retired from Platte Valley Bank in Smithville after 20 years of service.

Cary was the current President of the PWSD #9 and an active member at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Platte City.  He liked tinkering on many things, working on airplanes, houses, cars and RVs, making them better for others to enjoy.  He treasured his time in the mountains fly fishing, trail riding, and capturing these memories on film.  He loved being a Papa to Graham.

He was preceded in death by his father Dick Singleton and sisterKathy Carpenter.

Cary is survived by his wife Marta Singleton; children Alyssa (Lance) Thomas and Gavin Singleton; grandson Graham Singleton; foster daughter Jessica; his mother Sylvia Singleton; brothers Tracy (Karen) Singleton, Stacy (Linda) Singleton, Rick (Lori) Singleton, and Steve (Laurie) Singleton; brother-in-law Fred Carpenter; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Cary was a great friend and mentor to us as we grew our company, Redgate Disposal. He was always supportive, informative and caring. We missed him so much when he retired from Platte Valley. We have the highest regard and appreciation for the impact that Cary had on our business and our lives. Our sincere condolences for his loss and the world will shine less brightly without his heart and kindness.

We are so very sorry to hear about Cary. We met him at Taylor Lake camping 2 years ago. Cary helped Bob make a repair on our truck last year. Cary loved to fish at Taylor Lake, such a beautiful place! He shared fish he caught with camp hosts and others. On our trip in September, we visited with Cary. One of his last comments to us he said “you know, we’ve been up here awhile this year and for the first time, I’m ready to go home”. The last time we saw Cary, he waved as he was on his way for another happy day of fishing on Taylor Lake! God bless his lovely wife and family he talked so lovingly about.

I worked with and for Cary while I was in business there in Liberty, MO. Had a hangar there at the airport before moving to Brookfield. He was always a pleasant man to work with and for. So sorry to hear about his passing. He was a good man!

I’m sorry for the loss of Cary. I worked with him for a number of years at Platte Valley Bank. He was kind, courteous and friendly. I liked when he would say he would be gone for the BALANCE of the day.
